Ingredients For Cheesy Savory Christmas Wreath Recipe

8 oz Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Shortening
1/4 c cubed mozzarella
1/3 c shredded cheddar 
1/4 c herbed boursin 
2 tbsp pesto
Italian seasoning for garnish
2 c all-purpose  flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
9 tbsp ice water
For the herb topping:
1 tbsp Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Shortening
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp dried rosemary

Directions Cheesy Savory Christmas Wreath Recipe

  1. In a bowl add your three cheeses and mix until well combined
  2. In a small bowl make your wreath topping by adding your shortening, garlic, and dry seasonings and mix until combined
  3. For your pastry mix your dry ingredients and set to the side
  4. Chop up your hardened Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Shortening into cubes and add into your dry ingredients
  5. Gently push down the shortening until it is flat and slowly add one tbsp of ice water at a time until you get a shaggy dough. 9-10 tbsp is roughly what you'll need
  6. Refrigerate for one hour before flouring your surface and adding your dough. Flour a rolling pin and begin to roll your dough out gently.
  7. Fold the dough over itself to create layers in your pastry. Once its rolled out use a pizza slicer to slice triangle shapes for your wreath
  8. On a parchment lined baking tray add a jar in the center and add your triangle dough pieces around making sure they overlap
  9. add your pesto, then cheese mixture, then some italian seasoning on top and remove the jar
  10. Gently fold the dough over the mixture pinching the sides if needed to make sure the filling doesnt fall out
  11. Brush on your shortening mixture and bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top
  12. Garnish with rosemary sprigs and red sweet peppers!
