*You might be wondering why “virgin” oils carry such a low smoke point. That’s because virgin oils contain all the waxes and residues from the nut/seed/fruit they are being extracted from. With high wax, vitamin and mineral content living in the oil, it will more easily breakdown at the onset of rising temperatures.
