Ingredients for Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:

6 oz (¾ cups + 1tbsp) Granulated Sugar
6 oz (¾ cups + 2 tbsp)  Brown Sugar
8 oz (1 cup) Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Shortening, room temperature
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Whole Eggs
2 Egg Yolks
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
12 oz (2 ½ cups) All-Purpose Flour
10 oz (1⅔ cups) Dark Chocolate Chips


Optional Ingredients

3 oz (1/2 cup)  Milk Powder (for more prominent “Butter” flavor)

Directions for Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F
  2. Combine sugars, baking soda, salt and Avocado Shortening in a mixing bowl and cream with a paddle attachment until the mixture becomes smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix the vanilla into the eggs and gradually add them to the shortening mixture. Do not overmix.
  4. Add the flour and chocolate chips and mix until fully combined, scraping down the sides a couple of times.
  5. Chill the cookie dough for 1-2 hours, then scoop out with a 1½ oz scoop. Leave about 2 1/2 inches in between them to spread.
  6. Bake immediately at 350F for 15 – 16 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
