Ingredients for Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:
6 oz (¾ cups + 1tbsp) Granulated Sugar6 oz (¾ cups + 2 tbsp) Brown Sugar
8 oz (1 cup) Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Shortening, room temperature
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Whole Eggs
2 Egg Yolks
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
12 oz (2 ½ cups) All-Purpose Flour
10 oz (1⅔ cups) Dark Chocolate Chips
Optional Ingredients
3 oz (1/2 cup) Milk Powder (for more prominent “Butter” flavor)
Directions for Classic Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F
- Combine sugars, baking soda, salt and Avocado Shortening in a mixing bowl and cream with a paddle attachment until the mixture becomes smooth and fluffy.
- Mix the vanilla into the eggs and gradually add them to the shortening mixture. Do not overmix.
- Add the flour and chocolate chips and mix until fully combined, scraping down the sides a couple of times.
- Chill the cookie dough for 1-2 hours, then scoop out with a 1½ oz scoop. Leave about 2 1/2 inches in between them to spread.
- Bake immediately at 350F for 15 – 16 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
